SUMMARY
The Account Executive is responsible for, amongst other tasks, fostering client relationships. This is accomplished by: Identifying opportunities; Introduction; Education about our company, products, and value-added services; Closing opportunities; Mentoring and maintaining long-term relationships. By assisting our clients, and helping our community, an Account Executives primary responsibility is to grow revenue.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Travel to existing and potential client sites.
  • Exceed personal sales goals by identifying and researching targets and leads.
  • Initiate and leverage sales opportunities by mentoring existing and prospective clients.
  • Study and develop strong knowledge of our products and services.
  • Develop a firm market presence through efficient networking.
  • Communicate daily with existing accounts, target accounts and prospective clients.
  • Communicate with the sales team regarding account management, experience and knowledge, and sales strategy.
  • Develop a sales plan, and complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Manage and prioritize sales leads based on Fit.
  • Develop new and existing accounts by analyzing, researching, exploring, networking, and from referrals.
  • Renew and review existing accounts with an emphasis on understanding the opportunity, required level of service, client expectation, operational integrity, with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
  • Consistently maintain comments and integrity of account information in our sales tracking software (Salesforce).
  • Work special projects with clients and act as the liaison between the client and operations.
  • Provide factual updates on market conditions.
  • Invite team-members to participate in client meetings.
  • Complete compliance of company safety policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations relative to the ocean forwarding, transportation and distribution industries. Ability to write and evaluate reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and effectively present and respond to company and industry related questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as addition, subtract, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs, histograms, or similar statistical data. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount, interest, commission, proration, proportion, percentage, area, circumference and density; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret instructions and solve practical and complex problems working with multiple variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist; ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and quickly compare and support RPM CSI needs and requirements.
